Wow been waiting for years for a M & B book to be published. Two of the most fun days of my life I got to spend with Mark & Brian. I showed up at the Funzone one morning with my video camera and they asked me to follow and record the birth of The Elvis Bob. I got them going thru a carwash and other fun antics. Then the Big Show came when Robert “The Lucky Butt” himself drove it up to Hollywood and then to the top of the Capital Records Building. For a guy who grew up in Michigan that was a once in lifetime opportunity. I moved back home in 1991 but stayed a life long M & B fan. 30 years later I still got tons of pictures of them on my wall. It can never be said enough, the M & B show was truly entertaining. I look forward to reading Mark’s book and hope Brian will put one out as well.
I can’t begin to explain what a huge part of my life your radio show was for me. Started listening in 87 / 88 when you first started, was one of the original “Stupid Replaceable Listeners”. Among my many M & B items are the shuttle cock, foot scraper, and a signed copy of Johnny Vega‘s signed 45. Got to meet you at many events, was on the air with you a few times and got to attend a KLOS event at Ed Debevic’s. I am so looking forward to getting your book and going down memory lane.
I just bought mine. In regards to the few that have a written comment you should probably write something along the lines of how gullible we stupid disposable listeners are, buying a book from a hick who all he can do is draw pictures of naked women.
I ordered your book and can’t wait to reminisce. I remember all your kids births and when I had my son, the emotions you and Lynda shared over the air with your listeners helped me understand how grateful I am to be a parent. I met you, B & Lynda several times throughout the years at different events and you all were always kind and humble. Thanks for taking the time to do this for all your fans. Looking forward to reading….. Loving You. Wootie Whoooo………
Mark has always been the Up and Comer Has Been that never was . Mark has always been Loud , Uppity , Annoying and Boring, NPR Radio is more entertaining than Mark Thompson . I bought 2 of Mark’s books, I’ll be wiping my big ass with them. Love you Mark , Now F Off
Hey M&L,
Listening to you two on the podcast is like family. Not sure if that’s good or bad…but of great comfort…lol. My wife has been sending my birthday on the podcast for the last few years, and that’s pretty special. Unfortunately we’ve been separated now for about 18 months and the wedding might be over soon…after a 23 year relationship, 17 of which as husband and wife… second marriage for both of us…tears flowing as I write this. We met you and the kids at Mark’s movie screening a few years ago, and will always cherish the pics with you both and the memories. My Facebook feed had the book for sale, so like an idiot, I had to click through…and bought the fucking thing. Reasonable price for some great reminiscing of hearing Mark and Brian for the first time on my way to a new job one morning in 1987…thinking you both were kind of dicks with your “shock jock” bullshit…and an earthquake hit…It was a long lasting relationship as we all grew up together having kids…life’s up and downs…two marriages…losing my dad, my hero in 2002…What a great ride it was with M&B, Linda, the gang at KLOS…and such a great cause for your book to support. Love you guys…Always. Keep up the podcast as long as you possibly can. It’s really a fun listen!

Brings back old memories of helping M&B in their early M&B Mobile broadcasts using a cell phone and M&B branding irons to hold the microphones. Lots of fun in those early days cobbling things together to make bits work. I had a blast and always felt like one of the family. My band even played as the house band for the first Christmas show at the Torrance Marriott. We got to play with Spencer David (RIP). I can’t wait to read the book to see if my memory is fading or not. Always great to hear your voice on KLOS. It’s like a warm hug. Cheers.
Holy shit Dave, you bring back a bunch of memories. I had forgotten about the branding irons being used as mic holders. Great stuff. I think you’ll like the book. Good hearing from you.
Mark
Back in the day I’d email you asking if you could send me a DVD of the latest movie you were in. You sent me 2:13 and Mother Ghost. Now I’m asking if you can send me a copy of your book. This one however, I paid for!
Miss you,
Andy

Lovin’ you for keeping me entertained when you and Brian were on KLOS all those years. During the ’90s, I had an early morning commute that took me over the god forsaken Sepulveda pass / 405 Freeway everyday. I may have died on that commute had it not been for the RG. Thank you for all you have done in the name of entertainment. Looking forward to this read!
Also, thanks to you and Skeeter for keeping us all laughing on a regular basis with the Mark and Lynda Podcast. Though I am not quite as old as you, I appreciate anything that happens “regularly”!
Just ordered one for my dad, Mark. His only brother is named Brian. They consider themselves the original Mark and Brian 😅 The two of them worked your golf tournament, years ago. My dad now lives in Colorado and will fly out to attend the show to see you guys. Thanks for all the amazing laughs over the years ❤️
I was a Listener #1. You two were a welcome addition to my mornings I was a very young listener born in 72. You guys got me through some tough times in my teens and into early adulthood. I have always felt like you guys were family. You were the steady constant in my life, reliable, my escape from my family issues. you guys know you touched millions of lives. Mine was one of them.
Thank you
Always good to hear from a person who found solace in our bullshit. I’ve heard this from many Kerry, and it warms me to know that we were some help when it was needed. Thanks for the kind words #1
Looking forward to getting your book. I know it’ll be an interesting read. Checked out of radio when you guys went off the air. I never thought I would listen to talk radio when I moved to LA from NYC back in 1987 but then I heard your laugh and Brian’s Elvis. The chemistry and entertainment between you guys was unheralded. Thanks for being such a part of my LA Experience.
Mark I just listened to the last podcast, I’m off by 4 days…. I watched the video, it was very entertaining, you still have your mojo. 🙂 I’ll get the audible version, since I love your voice and Brian too. Oh I’m one of the first 40 listeners… hoo dee hoo, you made my day then, and still do now, I’m an old fart like you, actually I’m same age as Brian and Lynda… 🙂
Hey stupid Vogues, be aware we return to the Mark and Lynda Podcast this coming Friday the 26th. We will have new information about the book and the release date plus a comedy bit that was supposed to happen on Heidi and Frank but didn’t and it will happen on the 26th
I ordered 1 for my roomate Mark “Killer” Kilborn. You might recall Mark calling into the show, sounding loaded off his Donkey, talking Real Slooowly, lol. He would tell you his jokes, which were good, and you guys treated him real good, sending him tickets for all kinds on M&B events, with my brother, Tom, RIP, his care giver then, taking him to all the events. Mark suffered a head injury back in the 80’s, confining him to a Power Chair. Nowadyas he’s confined to his bed from Covid, thought he’s still doing fine, still cracking Jokes! Perhaps you might add a few words after you sign his book, I’m going to supprise him with it, then read it to him, and the whole book too! Love you & Linda & your Family too. God Bless!

Listened to you and Brian when I was in high school in the 90s. I joined the military and spent my first 10 years overseas but was so happy when I found your radio show in podcast format in 2011. Listened to your last show on KLOS and followed you to the Mark and Lynda Podcast. I am now on my way to my 7th and last overseas assignment and looking forward to reading your book later this year.
I guess my book: “The Adventures of Reading My Adventures With Mark and Brian” can finally be rolled out. My book won’t have a “Book-Mark” but it will have Band-Aids knowing how you are with tools and such.
